Why Do We Get Stuck?

We often get stuck because our heart and our brain are not in agreement.

As adults, we’re taught to rely on logic and ignore our intuition, feelings, and inner knowing. Over time, the brain takes full control of our decisions, choosing safety, predictability, and control. While this can protect us, it also keeps us from growth, joy, and meaningful experiences.

Mistakes are how we learn. But the brain avoids mistakes at all costs. When it stays in charge too long, it creates what spirit guides call a velvet prison—a life that feels comfortable and safe, yet limiting and unfulfilling.

Your heart, on the other hand, wants to feel love, passion, joy, and aliveness. It’s willing to risk pain to experience those things. When the heart wants movement and the brain wants safety, you become stuck—unable to decide or move forward.

How to Get Unstuck

Start by gently listening to both parts of yourself.

Ask your brain what it’s afraid of. Acknowledge the past hurts it’s trying to protect you from, and remind it that you’ve learned and grown.

Ask your heart what it wants. Write down your desires, dreams, and unhealed feelings without judgment. When finished, say:
I love you. I bless you. I forgive you.

Then begin small negotiations. Find simple, low-risk ways to bring more joy, creativity, or connection into your life. Even tiny steps release stuck energy and raise your vibration.

Freedom doesn’t come from perfection—it comes from alignment.

When your heart and brain begin working together, the velvet prison fades, and forward movements become possible again.
